A question, an annotated draft, and a pencil represent thinking, writing, and refining an idea through conversation.
  • Writing, research, and problem-solving
  • Your files and Library context
  • Models and tools you choose

Start with the work in front of you.

You may need to understand a report, explain a decision to a colleague, or answer a customer clearly. Bring the question and its context into AI Chat. Work through the difficult part, ask follow-up questions, and refine what you will use or share.

Get to a useful first version

Bring your notes, audience, and goal. Develop a proposal, team brief, customer reply, or explanation, then refine it around what the reader needs to understand or do.

Make sense of the material

Ask about a file, compare information, or unpack an unfamiliar idea. Use your documents and selected Library material to give the conversation relevant context.

Keep the decisions in your hands

Ask for alternatives, challenge an assumption, or take the conversation in another direction. Review the reasoning and relevant source material before you rely on the result.

From a question to work you can use.

  1. Bring the goal and context

Describe what you need and who it is for. Attach a supported file or select useful Library material, then choose from the models and tools available in your workspace.

  2. Work through it in conversation

Ask for a draft, explanation, comparison, or plan. Follow up on the part that matters, add a missing constraint, and refine the answer without starting over.

  3. Check the result and continue

Review the facts, assumptions, and wording. Keep developing the work, return to the conversation later, or branch it when you want to explore another approach.

Useful across the workday.

A decision for yourself, a brief for colleagues, or an answer for a customer. Start with the work you need to do and the person who will use the result.

Writing and creative preparation

Turn notes into emails, proposals, help articles, scripts, and creative briefs. Explain a change to customers, prepare a team update, or shape the content you want people to see.

Documents and files

Ask questions about supported documents, pull out the main points, and compare relevant material. Bring the parts that need closer attention back into the conversation.

Research and synthesis

Compare the sources you provide, organize findings, and identify open questions. Where your workspace has search tools available, choose them for the research task and review the returned sources.

Reasoning and decisions

Lay out the options, constraints, and trade-offs. Ask what an answer assumes, compare possible approaches, and check the details that could change your decision.

Planning and project preparation

Break your goal into a practical outline, prepare a client meeting, or organize work across a team. Adjust the plan around the time, people, and information you actually have.

Code and technical questions

Explain a code snippet, work through a technical concept, or draft an approach to a problem. Supply the relevant code and constraints, then verify the result in your own environment.

Give the conversation the context it needs.

The workspace brings your material, conversation history, and available tools into the same place. Choose what is relevant to the task.

Files for the current question
Attach supported files to a message when the work depends on a specific document or image. Clear source material makes the result easier to review.
Library for reference material
Select ready Library items to support the conversation with documents and knowledge you use across your work.
Text, images, video, and speech
Your workspace can offer models for text, image generation, video generation, and text-to-speech. Media output depends on the enabled tools, models, and provider configuration.
Conversation memory
Choose the relevant recall scope: the current conversation, your conversations, or workspace conversations. Keep prior context aligned with the task you are working on.

Questions about AI Chat

How is AI Chat different from AI Agents?

AI Chat is a conversation you direct in your workspace, including preparing work for colleagues or customers. An agent saves instructions, knowledge access, and selected tools around a role. AI Agents also supports configured deployments for people using your website or application.

Can I ask questions about my files?

AI Chat supports message attachments and selected Library context. Supported formats, processing readiness, source quality, and the selected model affect what can be used. Review important details against the original material.

Can it search the web or use connected tools?

Tools come from the enabled workspace catalogue. Search and connected actions are available when the relevant tool and any required connection are configured. Inspect the available choices rather than assuming every chat has the same capabilities.

Can I keep working on a conversation later?

Your workspace has chat history so you can return to a conversation. You can also branch a finished message to explore a different approach while keeping the original conversation.

Can I use AI Chat for visual or audio content?

Start by developing the brief, script, or concept. Image, video, and text-to-speech options appear when the relevant models are enabled, and generation depends on the tools and providers available to your workspace. Review the available options for the output you need.

Can I speak instead of typing?

Voice dictation is available in browsers that support the required speech-recognition capability. You can review the dictated text before sending it. This is separate from a continuous spoken conversation.
