Current, voltage and resistance
Voltage is the push from the source, current is how much charge flows each second, and resistance is how strongly a component limits that flow. Turning up the push or lowering the resistance increases the current.
Quick check
In one loop, current through a bulb measures 0.2 A. The learner is asked what the current is in the wire after the bulb, and why.

What mastery looks like
What a learner can do once this topic is secure.
- Describes voltage, current and resistance in their own words and gives the unit of each (volt, ampere, ohm)
- Predicts how current changes when the voltage doubles or a second resistor is added in series
- Recognises that current is the same everywhere in a single loop rather than being used up
